HypnoPhone Lite is Out!

HypnoPhone Lite is out! It came out this morning. You can download it for free in the iTunes App Store. It features:

– Complete rewrite from the ground up
– 4 new illusions
– Performance Improvements

HypnoPhone Lite 2.0 Submitted

I’m happy to announce I just submitted HypnoPhone Lite 2.0. Like the full version of HypnoPhone, this was a complete rewrite of the application, and brings some major performance improvements, new illusions and full iOS4 support. You can read all about it over on the product page.

I just submitted an update for HypnoPhone bringing full iOS4 support to the app.

F is for Falling 1.6 submitted

I just submitted an update for F is for Falling, version 1.6. It includes iOS 4.0 support for multitasking, improved performance, and even smoother tilt controls. I’m thinking about getting high resolution graphics in the next release, but it all depends if you would actually see a difference, this being a hand drawn game and all.

Updates and Progress

It’s been a busy few weeks, both professionally and personally, which is why there has not been as many updates. This is where I am with everything:

Obliteration HD – I’ve finished creating 25 new buildings, cut them up and added them to the game. I’ve been working on getting little zombies running around. I’ve got them moving, but I’m working on getting them smoother. I’ve also started designing the next level pack, as well as some bug fixes. I’m hoping to wrap it up in the next two weeks.

I’ve also stated work on two new apps. Once is a small utility for fun, the other will be a new game for the iPhone. It’s only down on paper so far, but I think it should be cool, look for those early / mid summer.

Finally, I’ve also gone back to some of my original games, Z is for Zombie, V is for Vortex and F is for Falling, and started tweaking the performance, load times, and adding new levels.

So, that’s it. I’m going to start posting at least once a week with status updates. I’ve got a TON of ideas rattling around in my head, I just wish I had more time to get them down on paper.

Obliteration HD in review

So, the first update to Obliteration HD is in review, and brings many changes and improvements to the game. Actually having an iPad to test with made a world of difference. The iPad had a lot more processing power than I anticipated, so I was able to really tweak the gameplay a lot. The levels have more buildings, the buildings have more pieces, and actually have fire and smoke effects when they explode.

I’ve recut and redone every single building graphic in the game. I gave them a real distressed look, which goes with the theme of the game. There were some bugs and tweaks I made to the physics engine, and things look smoother and more realisitic.  I’ve also redone the island levels, so the buildings fall into the ocean instead of over it.

There is an actual point and goal to the game now too. Previously all you had to do was blow stuff up, but you got no indication you did a good job outside of your score, but it didn’t matter what you did in each level. Now it does. There is now a Red Zone line under which you must bring every building. If you look at the screenshot below, you can see the new building artwork, as well as the  Red Zone indicator and the building height indicator. You have to get that line under the red zone line in order to pass each level:

Z is for Zombie Lite 2.1

So, Z is for Zombie Lite 2.1 was submitted last night. I made a pretty big goof which pretty much created a God Mode. So, if you want to play the game without fear of dying, go download it now! The update should be out tonight. This will be your only chance to play as a Zombie Killing God :)

Z is for Zombie 2.0 Lite

On Monday I submitted Z is for Zombie Lite 2.0,  and it is currently in review with Apple. As version 2.0 was a significant update for the full Z is for Zombie, this is also a pretty big update, porting over many of the same changes:

  • Progress Saving
  • High Scores
  • Statistics
  • Zombies have hit points
  • New Weapon! Pistol
  • Massive performance improvements
  • New onscreen controls (joystick)
  • Smoother Accelerometer Controls
  • New Game Over Screens
  • Finally, a ton of bug fixes

Obviously not everything came over, I need to leave some of the good things in the full version :) So, you only get 2 weapons in the Lite version, the Ninja Star and the Pistol. You’ll have to spend the $.99 cents to upgrade to the full version to get the Shotgun and PipeBombs. It should be out this evening, in the mean time you can grab version 1.0 and check it out!

and so it goes

Z is for Zombie 2.1 was just submitted to the app store :) The general consensus from the 2.0 update was that the gameplay got a lot more difficult. I’ve balanced the fastest / strongest zombies so they move a little slower, and are a little easier to kill.

Not too easy though :)

If past updates are any indication, it should be out towards the end of the week.
