Z is for Zombie 2.0 Lite

On Monday I submitted Z is for Zombie Lite 2.0,  and it is currently in review with Apple. As version 2.0 was a significant update for the full Z is for Zombie, this is also a pretty big update, porting over many of the same changes:

  • Progress Saving
  • High Scores
  • Statistics
  • Zombies have hit points
  • New Weapon! Pistol
  • Massive performance improvements
  • New onscreen controls (joystick)
  • Smoother Accelerometer Controls
  • New Game Over Screens
  • Finally, a ton of bug fixes

Obviously not everything came over, I need to leave some of the good things in the full version :) So, you only get 2 weapons in the Lite version, the Ninja Star and the Pistol. You’ll have to spend the $.99 cents to upgrade to the full version to get the Shotgun and PipeBombs. It should be out this evening, in the mean time you can grab version 1.0 and check it out!

V is for Vortex Lite 1.1 released

I just got word that V is for Vortex Lite 1.1 was approved. This was a huge update to the free game:

  • Saves your progress in Story Mode
  • Freeplay: Unlock levels to replay them & see how long your best time was
  • 12 new levels (18 Total)
  • Total time to complete each game, tracked in the achievement’s section
  • Tutorial Mode
  • More responsive control
  • Improved player movement
  • Level Reset Button
  • Bug fixes / Collision detection improvements

If you’ve left a review, please go back and update it after this version, many of the original complaints have been addressed.

Z is for Zombie Lite is out!

Z is for Zombie Lite, the free version of my zombie side scroller, was released late last night. It’s basically the same as the full version of Z is for Zombie, except it only has the first level (of four), and a 90 second time limit on survival mode, instead of a unlimited.

You can read more about the game by visiting it’s website, or check it out in the app store.

V is for Vortex Lite is out!

V is for Vortex Lite is out, and it’s free! It has the first 6 levels of V is for Vortex, and upgrades at a much slower pace (6 levels instead of 18 per update).

You can read more about the game by visiting it’s website, or check it out in the app store!

Z is for Zombie Lite

I just submitted Z is for Zombie Lite to the App Store. This lite version is the same as the full version, but only ships with the first level instead of all four. It also has a 90 second time limit on Survival Mode. So, it’s a small preview, but enough to give everyone a taste before they buy the full version :)

V is for Vortex Lite submitted

I just submitted a free version of V is for Vortex called: V is for Vortex Lite. It’s the same as the full version, but with only 1/3 of the levels, and a much slower update schedule.

As I’ve said before, V is for Vortex will get 18 new levels each update until we hit 108 levels. V is for Vortex Lite will come with 6 levels, and only get 6 levels per update until we hit 36. Other than that the game is the same, so it should give everyone a nice preview before they buy it :)

Free / Lite Versions?

I’ve received a fair amount of questions asking if I’m going to be releasing free or lite versions of my games. The answer is yes. I’m wrapping up the free version of Z is for Zombie today, and V is for Vortex shouldn’t be too far behind. I’m hoping to get both of them submitted this weekend.

In Z is for Zombie, the free version will let you play the entire first level, as well as survival mode for 90 seconds.

In V is for Vortex, the free version will let you play the first 6 levels. This will get updated at the same rate as the real game but only 6 levels each update, instead of 18.  So, by the time the full version has 108 levels, the free one will have 30.

So, look for those towards the end of the month!

Z is for Zombie Lite

I’ve had a few requests for a lite version of Z is for Zombie, and I wanted to let everyone know it’s in development. My plan is to have it come out at the same time as 1.2 of Z is for Zombie, which is nearing completion. It will have the same first level as the full game, and let you play survival mode for 3 minutes. Just enough to get a taste of the full game.

I’ll post some more details as they come.
