Z is for Zombie 2.0 Lite

On Monday I submitted Z is for Zombie Lite 2.0,  and it is currently in review with Apple. As version 2.0 was a significant update for the full Z is for Zombie, this is also a pretty big update, porting over many of the same changes:

  • Progress Saving
  • High Scores
  • Statistics
  • Zombies have hit points
  • New Weapon! Pistol
  • Massive performance improvements
  • New onscreen controls (joystick)
  • Smoother Accelerometer Controls
  • New Game Over Screens
  • Finally, a ton of bug fixes

Obviously not everything came over, I need to leave some of the good things in the full version :) So, you only get 2 weapons in the Lite version, the Ninja Star and the Pistol. You’ll have to spend the $.99 cents to upgrade to the full version to get the Shotgun and PipeBombs. It should be out this evening, in the mean time you can grab version 1.0 and check it out!

Z is for Zombie 2.1 was just submitted to the app store :) The general consensus from the 2.0 update was that the gameplay got a lot more difficult. I’ve balanced the fastest / strongest zombies so they move a little slower, and are a little easier to kill.

Not too easy though :)

If past updates are any indication, it should be out towards the end of the week.

Z is for Zombie 2.0 submitted

I just submitted Z is for Zombie 2.0, formally version 1.5. There were so many improvements and changes to the game, it really deserved a major release.

Z is for Zombie 1.5

I started working on Z is for Zombie 1.5 last night, it’s going to be a huge update:

  • High Scores
  • Better Stats
  • Progress Saving
  • Multiple Weapons
  • Zombies have hitpoints
  • Massive performance improvements
  • Improvement onscreen controls (joystick)

I’m hoping to have it wrapped up within a week.

F is for Falling 1.5 is out!

Wow, that was wicked fast, F is for Falling 1.5 is out!!

As I said previously, this was mostly a bug / performance improvement release, but I did sneak in a few new items:
  • Bug Fix: Leaderboards button linked to wrong place
  • Bug Fix: If you did from a large hazard (balloon or plane) while spinning, the game over screen would be rotated.
  • New Feature: Reset Scores button to reset all the high scores. You’ll need this if you have a score from version 1.3 and prior.
  • New Feature: Backgrounds toggle in settings screen, allows you to turn off the background clouds for performance improvement.
  • New Hazard: A Big Bomb that will blow you to pieces
  • Performance Improvements: I was able to reduce the memory footprint by 10%! This makes a big different on 1st gen devices.

HypnoPhone 2.0 is out!

HypnoPhone is a ‘game’ I made last spring when I was first learning how to get stuff on the iPhone. It was pretty basic, but has some measure of popularity in the App Store. A few weeks ago I completely rewrote it from the group up, and it was just approved!

This new version is faster, smoother, and most importantly, now has a speed slider to adjust the spinning speed of objects. Just touch the screen near the home button to see the slider, and touch the screen near the ear piece to go back to the main menu.

Climbing the rankings

F is for Falling has been steadly climbing the App Store rankings, faster and higher than I ever though would happen. In the United States, it currently sits at:

  • Number 74 in the Top 100 Paid Arcade Games
  • Number 95 in the Top 100 Paid Action Games
  • Number 246 in Paid Games Overall
  • Number 528 in Paid Apps Overall

That’s just incredible. In Canada it’s doing just as well:

  • Number 84 in the Top 100 Paid Arcade Games
  • Number 112 in the Paid Action Games
  • Number 319 in Paid Games Overall
  • Number 673 in Paid Apps Overall

And in Macau

  • Number 14 in the Top 100 Paid Arcade Games
  • Number 20 in the Top 100 Paid Action Games
  • Number 47 in Paid Games Overall
  • Number 116 in Paid Apps Overall

Pretty cool!

V is for Vortex 1.3 is out!

V is for Vortex 1.3 was just approved! This is a smaller update, just some general tweaks and bugfixes. The next major update will have 18 new levels!

  • Achievement Bug Fixes
  • Added leader board button on achievements screen
  • Added achievement descriptions

F is for Falling – Hot New Games

 I just found out that F is for Falling is being featured under Hot New Games, viewable in the App Store from your iPhone or iPod Touch :). It’s under Featured, Popularity and Release Date.
