My second app for Windows 8 has been certified! This one is going to be free at launch of Win8!
I received a nice email this morning, my first of six apps have been approved for the Windows 8 Store! Hopefully the rest follow as quick and painless!
Here is a youtube video of Trace Your Name in action!
Trace Your Name is a tracing app that allows your children to trace their own name! Enter up to 5 names, and you can practice writing all day long.
Trace Your Name is geared towards children just learning to write their name. It allows them to trace their name over and over again without wasting paper. In Trace Your Name you can also practice writing the alphabet and numbers!
Trace Your Name allows you to store up to five names or words. You can change or remove those words at any time. Children can learn how to trace their name, individual letters of the alphabet or numbers!
Once your child has traced their name or the word on the screen, you can hide the guide letters and see how they did. As they get more advanced, you can switch off the letter arrows and just show the letter itself.
Hypnosis, one of the first apps I ever developed for the iPhone (HypnoPhone), has just been released on the Kindle Fire, Nook, and any other devices that utilize the Amazon App Store. It took a few days to port this over, redo the graphics and make sure everything was working, but I think the end result is nice. Now you can get to making your friends sick on any device you have! :)
For the past 3.5 years I’ve been releasing games under the company name of “How I Hate The Night”. Now that I have a daughter of my own and a few children’s apps under my belt, I didn’t feel comfortable having a splash screen with the word Hate in it. So, it was time for a rebranding.
I spent some time trying to come up with a name that would suit both the new children’s apps I have created and the existing apps I have out there. After a few weeks I eventually decided on Iceberg Apps. All of my existing apps will be updated over the new few weeks with the new splash screen, and I will hopefully have some new progress reports on Obliteration II, F is for Falling II, some new HyphoPhone apps and maybe a sneak peak at the adventure game I’ve been working on. This this should hopefully be a good year.
Amazon is currently running a promotion where customers who purchase select apps from the Amazon Appstore will receive a $1 credit to spend in the Amazon MP3 Store. Owls just happens to be one of those apps! So, instead of spending $1 on a song, why not spend $1 on Owls and get a song for free?
Equal parts education and entertainment, Owls is a fun matching game for children of all ages.
The Parliament School for Owls is very serious about the Buddy System. Every Owl has a buddy, and is not allowed to come in from recess without them. Your job is to help the Owls find their buddy and get in for lunch! Learn about Owls, watch the seasons change and see how quickly you can send the Owls home. Can you earn 3 stars in every level?
In Owls, children match random pairs of owls to clear the screen. After successfully completing each level, they are rewarded with a little fact about owls. Every 25 levels the seasons change from Spring to Summer, Fall and Winter. They can earn up to 3 stars per level depending on how quickly they clear the screen, and go back as many times as they wish to retry.
* 999 Random Levels
* 30 Different Owls
* 40 Different backgrounds showing all 4 seasons
* Fun facts about Owls after every level
* 22 Game Center Achievements
* Game Center Leader boards
* Bright and Fun music
